Google Jan. 25 launched its extensions gallery for the stable version of Chrome for Windows, bringing 1,500 extensions to the masses. Extensions are programs developers create that let users customize the Web browser to hook into third-party applications or send readers alerts. eWEEK posted a cross-section of Chrome extensions here last month, including the Google Wave notifiers, Gmail mail checker and other apps to make Chrome more useful.
