Google Jan. 25 launched its extensions gallery for the stable version of Chrome for Windows, bringing 1,500 extensions to the masses. Extensions are programs developers create that let users customize the Web browser to hook into third-party applications or send readers alerts. eWEEK posted a cross-section of Chrome extensions here last month, including the Google Wave notifiers, Gmail mail checker and other apps to make Chrome more useful. Google Voice for Chrome

This new and improved extension adds a button to the Google Chrome toolbar, which displays the number of unread messages in your Google Voice inbox, view recent messages; and click to call people.

Amazon Wish List

An official Amazon.com extension, the Amazon.com Wish List extension lets users add any item from any Website to it with one click. Think of it as a shopping cart right in your Chrome browser!

Shareaholic For Chrome

Shareaholic For Chrome lets users click the Share button on any page and select a service, add a personal note and send to your friends and share directly to Web services.

EverNote Web Clipper

This EverNote extension saves the content of a clip along with a link back to the original page. Users may put text, images and links into their Evernote account.

Picnik Extension for Chrome

The Picnik Extension for Chrome lets users edit Web images by creating a snapshot of the current Web page and opening it in Picnik for editing and annotation. Users may then share their work.

Send from Gmail (by Google)

Google's Mail Checker extension displays the number of unread messages in your Gmail inbox. Send from Gmail will open a Compose window in Gmail when you click any e-mail address on a webpage. It also provides a button that will create a Gmail message when clicked, using the page title as the subject and selected page text and link address as the message.

Speed Tracer

Speed Tracer is an analytics apps that helps users find and fix performance problems in Web apps.

One Number

One Number for Chrome lets users aggregate their favorite Google services into one button to manage unread counts for Google Voice, Gmail, etc.

Google Similar Pages

As the description implies, Google's Similar Pages extension helps users locate similar pages for the page they are viewing. Warning: this is in beta.

Google Calendar Checker
