The company's messaging software will be able to be remotely replicated on to EMC's storage hardware.
Messaging software maker Critical Path Inc. announced a partnership with storage giant EMC Corp. today, for the companies to jointly target service providers.
For the initial deliverable, Critical Path has optimized its CP Messaging Server, CP PIM, CP Presentation Server, Multimedia Messaging Server, CP Directory, and CP MetaDirectory products to use the remote replication functions of EMCs high-end Symmetrix hardware.
In the future, Critical Path will also integrate with EMC application programming interfaces, and with EMCs network-attached storage products, said Patricia Hume, senior vice president of partners and channels, in San Francisco.
"Its going to roll out over time," she said. But, "We dont do exclusive deals with anyone," she added.
The future plans should be solidified by September, Hume said. Critical Path is also buying more Symmetrix units for its own data center, she said.
The companies have "a significant number of joint customers," Critical Path officials said, but specifics were not immediately available.
