CommuniGate Systems Launches CommuniGate Pro Version 5.4

The latest version of CommuniGate Pro offers remote mailbox and external mailbox synchronization features.

Unified communications technology specialist CommuniGate Systems announced the launch of CommuniGate Pro Version 5.4. The Pro hosting platform technology now includes an array of features designed to enable revenue-generating services and value-added features such as HD Voice, mVoIP, enhanced groupware for Apple Macintosh users, improved Mobile Sync for the Android platform, iOS4 (iPhone/iPAD) and remote mailbox synchronization.

By incorporating the new remote mailbox and external mailbox synchronization features, CommuniGate Pro 5.4 helps enable operators to offer feature-rich services to existing fixed-line and mobile customers without the initial risks involved in replacing legacy unified messaging systems.

CommuniGate Pro 5.4 features built-in support for SMPP that links the platform to SMSC gateways for SMS services via the new Pronto 4 UC interface, which enables CommuniGate Pro to use SMS as a delivery channel for many applications, including calendar reminders, mobile originated preference management and offline instant messaging.

Version 5.4 also includes performance and compatibility improvements to the file system for multi-gigabyte mailbox support. Many of the standards-based interfaces such as AirSync, CalDav and WebDav have been reworked for higher performance under 64-bit platforms, and new open standards-based CardDav support in Version 5.4 allows native synchronization with contact management applications, like the Apple Mac Address Book.

Last year, the company released VoicePlus, a high-definition IP telephony solution designed specifically for small to medium-size businesses. Features include CommuniGate Pronto 3, the Flash based softphone and UC client that runs in any Web browser on desktops, laptops or netbooks; complete telephony support, including conference calling, call handling, call screening, voicemail and many more enterprise-grade features; admin and user interfaces for feature activation, call planning, administration and provisioning; and support for a wide range of industry-standard HD voice IP desk phones, including Thomson, Polycom and Snom.
