The ONVIF-compliant GXV3615 delivers standard definition, multirate video streaming.

Grandstream Networks, a manufacturer of IP voice/video telephony and video surveillance solutions, extended its portfolio of IP network security camera solutions with the introduction of the GXV3615 Cube IP Camera.

Designed as an affordable security protection solution for indoor small to medium-size business (SMB) and residential surveillance under low-light conditions, the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF)-compliant GXV3615 series is available in two models: the GXV3615 (integrated PoE) and GXV3615W (integrated 802.11b/g/n WiFi).

As with all the models within Grandstream's surveillance portfolio, these new cameras offer bidirectional SIP/VOIP calling capabilities with Grandstream's entire IP voice and video products and integrate with existing SIP-based IP PBXes and service provider networks. The GXV3615 is available currently for purchase through Grandstream's worldwide distribution channels for $135. The company noted the GXV3615W would be commercially available for purchase in January at a suggested price of $145.

Featuring multirate, H.264 real-time video streaming with enhanced image clarity, the user-friendly GXV3615 can be installed within minutes. The ONVIF-compliant GXV3615 includes a CMOS sensor and lens to ensure sharp picture quality under low-light conditions, integrated microphone and speaker, motion detection, a built-in streaming server to allow 10+ simultaneous viewers, large pre-/post-event recording buffer and other features.

"The GXV3615 Cube IP camera delivers exceptional imaging required for high-quality surveillance monitoring and identification," said David Li, CEO of Grandstream. "We are pleased to offer this flexible and affordable solution that fits a variety of business and residential needs. The integrated voice-over-IP capability of this camera will further enable innovative two-way IP voice + video surveillance converged applications nearly out-of-the-box."

The GXV3615 also allows users to stream all monitoring activities to a mobile or video phone, from anywhere in the world, using the camera's two-way audio and video streaming capability. It can also be managed with GSurf, Grandstream's free video management software that controls up to 36 cameras simultaneously.

According to Vanderlei Rigatieri, CEO of WDC Networks, a distributor of video monitoring software, the GXV3615 will add a new market segment to IP video surveillance, specifically into the residential and small to medium-sized companies. "We expect a smooth integration of the new camera into Grandstream's existing portfolio, which WDC is rapidly deploying using professional VMS software solutions," he said.

Earlier this month, the company announced its inaugural agent/reseller program for VOIP CPE solutions. The Grandstream Reseller Program offers worldwide partners implementing the company's GXP CPE endpoints the ability to garner additional revenue through instant rebates when GXP products are purchased through a growing list of participating suppliers.

3CX, a software-based IP PBX provider, is one of the first suppliers to sign on with Grandstream's new reseller program. The two companies recently completed extensive testing between each company's products resulting in 3CX giving full certification to Grandstream's entire endpoints product line, including the new GXP21xx series of HD phones and existing phones, IP multimedia phones, FXO and FXS gateways, ATAs and GXV35xx/36xx series of SIP-based surveillance cameras.
