Manufacturing Edition features material requirements planning, production engineering, shop floor control, manufacturing inventory control, manufacturing cost control, project control, and lot and serial control.

NetSuite, a vendor of cloud computing business management software suites, announced the availability of NetSuite Manufacturing Edition, a cloud manufacturing suite designed to help midsize manufacturers run business operations with greater agility and visibility, including support for the multicompany, multiplant, multilocation and multicurrency enterprise.

Key functionality in NetSuite's manufacturing solution includes multisite planning and management, material requirements planning (MRP), production management, engineering change control (ECC), shop floor control and work-in-progress (WIP) management.

Manufacturing Edition delivers capabilities and benefits such as management of global businesses, including support for the multicompany enterprise, with real-time visibility into all aspects of operation, a fully integrated cloud computing enterprise management system and a customizable business platform that can be adapted to complex manufacturing processes from light assembly to discrete manufacturing.

"While some vendors make promises about cloud-based products that don't live up to their hype and others build niche tools for manufacturers, only NetSuite delivers a complete manufacturing suite from the cloud that is available and running today," said Jim McGeever, CFO of NetSuite. "With NetSuite, manufacturers now have the suite they need to move their key operations to the cloud and reap the many productivity and cost reduction benefits cloud computing has to offer."

Rootstock Software on NetSuite's SuiteCloud and NetSuite OneWorld technology platforms developed the core functionality for Manufacturing Edition. Manufacturing Edition also offers features including material requirements planning, production engineering, shop floor control, manufacturing inventory control, manufacturing cost control, project control, and lot and serial control.

"With the NetSuite Manufacturing Edition, all our subsidiaries are rolled up in one system, giving us an operational bird's eye view and increased operating efficiencies," said Ian Elliott, CEO of CertiCell, a specialist in the repair and deployment of wireless devices. "It is difficult to imagine a more cost-effective solution capable of matching the performance we are now experiencing."

Last month, the company partnered with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro Limited with the aim to set a new standard for cloud solutions expertise. The current scope of the partnership focuses on the Asia-Pacific market, with future expansion planned for North America. In the Indian market, Wipro is a specialist in providing IT solutions and services for the corporate segment in India, offering system integration, network integration, software solutions and IT services.
