The company's Great Point platform allows the delivery of new features, including presence and automatic call distribution applications.
Managed IP telephony specialist Whaleback Systems announced
the Great Point Managed IP Telephony platform, an integrated, turnkey
platform for Voice over IP phone systems. The Great Point
platform is designed to provide maximum uptime, reduce implementation
time and ease onsite administration via centralized Web management.
A managed IP telephony platform, Great Point offers a feature-set for
SMB (small and midsize business) customers, including Find-me Follow
me for simultaneous ringing of desk and cell handsets, music or
marketing messages on hold, advanced voicemail capabilities and a 911
capability that pinpoints the location of remote users.
"The new Great Point business voice platform from Whaleback Systems
lets us deliver a suite of new enhancements our SMB customers require,
such as integration with cell phones and other mobile devices," said
Chuck Garabedian of voice and data managed services specialist
IntelliVon. "We are giving our customers a competitive edge for their
businesses while concurrently decreasing our company's overhead through
reduced implementation time."
The platform also features the RAIL (Redundant Array of Integrated
Links) system integrated into a singular box, which is designed to add
resilience and robustness. In addition, the new plug-and-play device,
with centralized management, reduces implementation time by nearly 70
percent, according to a company release. Great Point also allows the
delivery of new features and enhancements with improved speed,
including presence and ACD (automatic call distribution) applications.
"Our valued partners and resellers can now offer a feature-rich service
that is easy for them to deploy and simple for their SMB customers to
use," said Wray West, founder and CTO of Whaleback Systems. "We have
developed a platform that offers exactly what SMB customers want -
fixed mobile convergence, unified communications, plug-and-play
installation and -anywhere management'."
Earlier this year, the company introduced CrystalBlue Lite, a managed
voice service for businesses offered by carriers and service providers
selling SIP trunking services. CrystalBlue Lite features an
architecture for the delivery of managed VOIP services through the
carrier channel, as well as a carrier partner program - a go-to-market
plan designed for multiple system operators (MSOs), competitive local
exchange carriers (CLECs), interexchange carriers (IXCs), Internet
service providers (ITSPs) interested in introducing the managed service
to the SMB sector.
Through its carrier-focused channel partner program, Whaleback Systems
provides carriers the enabling technology, network operations, customer
support, billing and overall project management. Whaleback also trains
new carrier partners' direct and indirect sales channels and supports
their efforts with co-branded materials and marketing efforts.
Meanwhile, the carrier partners offer services such as the access network,
SIP trunks and competitive rate plans for the end customers' monthly
telephone usage. Additionally, Whaleback provides a national service
partner for on-site installation and repair services.
