Each year since the iPhone's release, Apple has held an event to showcase all the updates it's making both to the iPhone design and to its software. This year, Apple is scheduled to show off iPhone OS 4.0. For now, the company is tight-lipped on what it plans to include in the software. Some say that it might add multitasking support. Others say it will be a largely cosmetic upgrade to give the OS a slightly different look. In either case, we know something new is coming. But there are some features that we do want to see in iPhone OS 4.0. Apple's smartphone is a fine product, but it lacks some key features that would put it over the top and place it even further ahead of the competition.
