TRUMBULL, Conn.—Apple's new iPad tablet computer may be flying out the doors of Apple Stores and Best Buys from Silicon Alley to Silicon Valley, but it proved to be much easier to purchase at the local Best Buy here April 3. Instead of tents and a rabble of hundreds of Apple fans jockeying for position, roughly five people showed up at 9 a.m. to pick up presale tickets, vouchers that serve as a sort of lotto ticket for consumers eager to buy the machine. Best Buy staffers declined to provide details, but this store was believed to have nearly 50 iPads to sell. To gauge their interest in the device, eWEEK spoke to some of the consumers who showed up early to buy the iPad, four units of which were on display in the store's Apple computer section. Here is the Trumbull, Conn., Best Buy tour.
