The Bluetooth Special Interest Group announces the adoption of Bluetooth Specification Version 1.2

The Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG) has announced the adoption of Bluetooth Specification Version 1.2. The new version introduces adaptive frequency hopping, which allows Bluetooth to more efficiently coexist with other 2.4 GHz technologies like 802.11b and 802.11g. Consumer products based on the new specification are expected to begin shipping in the next quarter. Bluetooth version 1.2 is backwards compatible with version 1.1.
