Enterprise Mobility: Intel Labs Offers a Peek at Future Technology, Cutting-Edge Chips
At its Tech Heaven event in New York April 7, researchers at Intel Labs showed off some of the projects they've been working on, touching on everything from hands-free technology and social media to health, fashion, transportation and the home. The myriad Intel projects include technology to wirelessly beam video from a laptop to a big-screen TV, an experimental 48-core processor, work toward making PCs responsive to human thought, how the Atom chip is powering an automotive infotainment platform, technology to help students in class, upcoming handheld devices, improving social media on mobile devicesincluding letting users share their activities with others through the use of an avatar. Some of these projects are in the not-too-distant future; others are far down the road. Here is a sampling of what Intel Labs has cooking.
