Intel Unveils New Notebook Chips
Intel rolls out six new notebook processors, including a 2.4GHz Pentium 4-M.Just days after cutting the prices on many of its mobile chips, Intel Corp. on Tuesday rolled out six new notebook processors, including a 2.4GHz Pentium 4-M. The Santa Clara, Calif., chip maker also unveiled a new integrated graphics chipset for its mobile PC group, the 852GM. When combined with Intels mobile Pentium 4 or Celeron processors, the new chipset offers Double Data-Rate 266/200 memory capability and a 400MHz system bus, according to Intel. The chipset includes Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports, the company said.
The other new chips include three new Ultra Low Voltage Pentium III-M chipsdesigned primarily for ultralight notebooks and tablet PCsrunning between 800MHz and 933MHz, a Low Voltage Celeron at 866MHz and a Mobile Celeron at 2GHz.
