Penny-a-chip requirements make it an unattractive market for the world's biggest chip maker, says COO Paul Otellini
Although RFID should explode over the next few years, Intel COO Paul Otellini doesnt see a place for Intel at that table. Speaking at Forresters annual conference, Otellini focused on the low-per unit cost requirements for the chips as making it unattractive.
"We wont jump into that penny-a-chip (market)," Otellini said. "It will take a lot of units to make serious money."
