Company has developed DRM tools that restrict the copying of images and other content on the Web.

SEOUL, South Korea—MarkAny, a South Korean DRM (digital rights management) solution company, announced last week it has developed DRM tools that restrict the copying of images and other content on the Web. Until now, DRM solutions have not been very successful in limiting the copying of Web content. MarkAnys new software, MarkAny Image SAFER, bans copying any image or digital content from a Web page, according to officials here. For example, the software strictly prevents use of the browsers copy and paste function, the dragging of contents, and even capturing screen shots.
Without requiring a separate hardware device, this solution can block the copying of digital documents, games and other content. MarkAny Image SAFER protects the distribution of image files using any of the means available to copy computer files, officials said.
"Our solutions will allow enterprises to protect their digital content. MarkAny Image SAFER targets digital image libraries, digital photo services, digital museums, newspapers, broadcasting, multimedia content, online education and more," said Jongwook Choi, CEO of MarkAny.
