Nokia Debuts Internet Tablet With Wi-Fi

Nokia last week unveiled an Internet access device, its first product to rely on wireless LAN connectivity rather than on a cellular connection.

The Nokia 770 Internet Tablet is designed for Web access and e-mail. It has a high-resolution display and an on-screen keypad. The device supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and it runs a Linux-based operating system.

Smaller than a traditional tablet computer, the 770 is designed to fit in a shirt pocket. It will reach store shelves in the second half of the year, according to Nokia officials.
