Nokia Optimizes Wireless Networks

Nokia to ship new compression software that should increase 2.5 and 3G wireless network performance.

Nokia Corp. in December will start shipping compression software that the company said will halve the transfer times of narrowband wireless networks when the product is installed only on the server. Download times are cut by two-thirds if Nokias client is also installed on Windows-based PCs. The compression works best with multimedia files. Read the full story at
