Wireless technology giant Qualcomm last week announced it had acquired Elata, a British mobile content delivery software company, for $57 million in cash.

Officials at Qualcomm, which specializes in CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology for cell phones, said that Elatas software will help operators consolidate their content delivery systems onto a single framework, supporting a variety of devices.

The move follows Qualcomms acquisition of Flarion Technologies earlier this month. Flarion specializes in wireless broadband technology.
