Review: The Motorola U9, part of the mobile phone maker's LiMo Phone line, impresses with a strong signal, good voice quality, a decent camera and MP3 player plus Java support. Linux Devices' Henry Kingman takes the Motorola U9 Linux Mobile phone through its paces.

The Motorola U9, part of the mobile phone maker's LiMo (Linux Mobile) Phone line, with its "mesmerizing" external OLED display, strong radio, and small, finger-friendly form factor could make the U9 a top seller.

There are some glitches with Motorola U9's USB connectivity. But the phone performs well testing Bluetooth, music playback and photography. Especially impressive is the Motorola U9's small size and good voice quality, and the fact that Motorola has at last moved beyond "thin" in its fashion phone lineup.
