The iPhone 4S is an obvious choice for a holiday wish list this year. The device comes with a dual-core processor, 8-megapixel camera, support for Siri, Apples new voice-activated virtual personal assistant and, perhaps most importantly, it still retails for $199 for shoppers willing to buy an iPhone along with a two-year service contract. The iPhone 4S is still the top smartphone on the market.
With the holiday-shopping season looming, many consumers are wondering what they should put on their wish lists. From video game consoles to a new television, chances are that technology will take up some space on those lists during the Black Friday shopping surge. However, with the increasing popularity of smartphones and tablets, it's quite possible that those mobile devices of some type will be prominent on many wish lists. In other words, now is the prime time to buy some mobile devices. This eWEEK slide show takes a look at some of the mobile products—both smartphones and tablets—that consumers should consider buying this year. By choosing any of the following devices, consumers will have useful, stylish and, perhaps most important, future-proofed products to enjoy over the next year or so.
