Wire It Yourself

In a world of wireless this and wireless that, sometimes we all find ourselves begging for a little bit more—a little more reliability, a little more bandwidth, a little more speed, a little more security, and heck, even a little more free time to enjoy this world that offers so much more. In order to feed this technology crave, we need to go back to the basics and connect our dots with copper.

Though the wireless technologies available today may be easy to implement, they cannot accommodate all that "more" we want. Fortunately, theres an alternative. Plain old copper wiring has been around for over a century, delivering power to our light fixtures and electric appliances. More recently, copper has been helping to transmit power and data to our electronics, quickly and reliably. With wires, we can transfer files between PCs much faster, enjoy streaming audio and video at higher resolutions, ensure better security, and worry less about signal loss or disruptions to our network. Theres a reason we all use them: Wires work.

Usually, PC Magazine encourages you to unwire. Today, Id like to sing the praises of wires. In other words, having more wire equates to having that little bit more were all looking for.
