Brooks Internet Software releases its ExcelliPrint Version 3.2, an Intelligent Printer Data Stream tool.

Brooks Internet Software has launched its ExcelliPrint Version 3.2, a printer management tool designed to help businesses with their Intelligent Printer Data Stream processes. ExcelliPrint Version 3.2, which comes in Standard and Premium versions, is used for IPDS printing in mixed IBM and Windows print environments. ExcelliPrint offers AFP (advanced function printing) capabilities for uses like printing text for bar code labels as well as graphics, images and logos for invoices. IPDS is a computer-to-printer data stream used by IBMs architecture for AFP and is able to manage printing on low-end workstations, LAN-attached printers and high-volume printers.
Brooks Internet Software says ExcelliPrint can be used with printers from any manufacturer, whether local, desktop or networked, and offers enhanced job handling, increased tray selection options, and improved font, overlay, text and image rendering.

"IPDS software allows for more functionality and administrative capabilities while also allowing businesses to save money by not having to go out and buy a printer that supports IPDS documents," said Pete Basiliere, research director of Printing Markets and Management at technology research firm Gartner.
The standard version, priced at $495, designed to support output to multiple PCL printers, can receive print jobs without requiring a Windows user to be logged in. It supports different levels of administrative security as well as the ability to process text, images, graphics, fonts and bar codes. The premium version, priced at $795, includes all of the features in the standard version, and also lets users convert documents into multiple file formats, such as PDF and TIFF. Both the standard and premium versions of ExcelliPrint Version 3.2 are available now. Check out eWEEK.coms for the latest news and reviews of printers.
