Canon Updates 3 imageRUNNER MFPs to Maintain No. 1 Market Spot
The product uses imageCHIP architecture that allows faster, simultaneous processing of multiple jobs.Canon U.S.A. announced three new color-enabled and black-and-white models of its imageRUNNER multifunctional product line Nov. 1, with its imageCHIP architecture that allows faster, simultaneous processing of multiple jobs in an attempt to keep customers who are switching from monochrome to color. Intended for large workgroups that need high-volume black-and-white and the ability to restrict and control high-quality color print, the imageRUNNER C5068/C5058 models include color scanning, copying and sending, plus optional color network printing.
ImageRUNNER C5058/C5068 models update an earlier color-enabled series and should help Canon "hold onto its No. 1 share position in the fast-growing color copier market, which is expected to grow at a CAGR [compound annual growth rate] of 18.8 percent through 2011," said Jonathan Bees, director of Digital Peripherals Solutions Consulting Service at InfoTrends.
