The company's print component recycling program can be scaled to businesses of all sizes.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions, a provider of
imaging and networking technologies, announced the launch of the Clean
Planet Recycling Program that will provide consumables recycling to
customers. Whether relying on a single desktop printer, a fleet of
Bizhub MFPs or professional Bizhub Pro or Bizhub Press production
print systems, all Konica Minolta customers can reduce their ecological
footprint with the Clean Planet Recycling Program's return and recycle
process.
With the Clean Planet Recycling Program, customers will now be able to
return and recycle all major consumables - including toner cartridges,
imaging units, waste toner bottles, developer/developer units and drums
- for all Konica Minolta models without any shipping or processing
costs. The program also ensures that received recyclables are processed
in an environmentally safe and responsible manner - no recyclable items
are permitted to go into landfills.
Small and home office customers can send in single consumable items for
recycling by printing a postpaid UPS label from the Website, while a
recycling box designed to hold 10-15 consumables can be ordered from
the Clean Planet Website for collection in midsize offices. When the
box is full, a UPS label can be printed from the Website for shipping.
For high-volume customers, Konica Minolta can arrange for the delivery
and pickup of recycling pallets that hold a larger quantity of
consumable items.
To minimize energy and fuel costs associated with shipping, Konica
Minolta has partnered with facilities located across the country, with
collection points that are automatically selected based on the
customer's location. When labels are printed, the closest
facility is automatically selected to minimize the energy and fuel
costs associated with shipping. Shipping is further reduced by the
Clean Planet box, which can hold multiple consumables.
"Konica Minolta invested heavily in developing this program to ensure
it would bring only the highest value to our customers, and we are
excited to launch it as a critical part of our corporate environmental
initiatives," said Kevin Kern, senior vice president of marketing for
Konica Minolta Business Solutions. "The Clean Planet Recycling Program
seeks to ensure that we are not only addressing the environmental
concerns of our customers, but also meeting Konica Minolta's
responsibilities for global sustainability. While delivering
market-leading products and solutions is an ongoing commitment to
customers, this new initiative ensures that customers can now count on
Konica Minolta for much more than just their digital imaging needs."
The company also announced the release of the Magicolor 3730DN A4 color
printer, which features integrated auto-duplex printing, 2400
(equivalent) x 600 high resolution image quality, and Konica Minolta's
smart calibration system - enhanced Automatic Image Density Control
(eAIDC). Printing at 25 ppm in color and black and white with a
120,000-page monthly duty cycle, the 3730DN has a height of only 13.6
inches and is Energy Star compliant.
