As both lasers and inkjets improve, each encroaching on what was once the other’s strongest territory, the differences between the two types of printers are inevitably starting to blur. But there are still differences. Here’s a look at the good, the bad and the overlap.

For printing on plain paper--for a client or company newsletter, say, or even just a Web page--color lasers generally do a better job than inkjets. As with graphics, however, inkjets generally do a better job than monochrome lasers.
