The company plans to rebrand the product as the Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall and reduce the price of the full version of the software.

Sunbelt Software Inc. said on Thursday that it was buying the Kerio Personal Firewall software from Kerio Technologies Inc. Sunbelt plans to rebrand the product as the Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall and reduce the price of the full version of the software. Sunbelt will continue to provide support to existing Kerio Personal Firewall customers. It will also continue to offer a version of the Kerio firewall for free, according to a company statement. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.

Kerio, of Santa Clara, Calif., makes enterprise firewall and secure messaging products in addition to the Kerio personal firewall. In a statement, CEO Martin Viktora said that Sunbelt was positioned to provide support and development for the Personal Firewall and that he was "pleased that this product has found such a deserving home."
