eWEEK Labs Walk-through: ForeScout CounterACT 100

By Matthew D. Sarrel

One of the ForeScout CounterACT 100's greatest strengths is its Web-based assets portal, which allows authorized users to search on a variety of criteria and then dive deeper to uncover relationships between devices and networks.

Establishing a NAC policy allows you to set a scope, create a main rule and then sub-rules with their associated conditions and actions.

After selecting the main rule, it's easy to establish the test criteria and the actions to be taken based on outcome.

Building a NAC policy involves test for conditions, which can be conveniently selected from this list.

Actions that can be taken when criteria are met for network access can include installing the SecureConnector agent, sending e-mail alerts and firewalling the endpoint.
