U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency officials are looking at converging voice and data in many Defense Department installations, according to a recently completed study.Defense Information Systems Agency officials are looking at converging voice and data in many Department of Defense (DOD)installations, according to a recently completed study announced during the Army Directorate of Information Management conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL last week. IP telephony has already been deployed by Central Command (Centcom) in the Middle East and in more than 130 VOIP networks for the DOD worldwide.
VOIP switches and routing gateways are beings tested at DISAs Joint Interoprability Test Command (JITC) at Fort Huachuca, AZ.
