Toshiba Launches VIPedge Cloud-Based Telephone Platform
Users have a choice of endpoints, including Toshiba’s IP5000-series desk telephones, IP4100 wireless telephones and Call Manager with integrated voice.Toshiba America Information Systems announced the launch of VIPedge, a cloud-based business telephone solution that allows companies to pay a monthly service feescalable to meet system size and usage needs. Together with its IPedge and Strata CIX business telephone systems, VIPedge offers small and midsize businesses (SMBs) a choice of cloud, IP or converged business telephone systems. Available through the companys authorized dealers, VIPedge starts at an average of $29.99 per user. Based upon the Toshiba IPedge on-premises business telephone system, VIPedge offers features such as voicemail with unified messaging, mobility solutions including find-me follow-me call routing and integration with customer resource management (CRM) programs, including Salesforce.com, Act!, Microsoft Outlook and others. Toshiba also offers optional international calling plans.
With VIPedge, Toshiba manages the entire telephone system in the cloud, so all that users have to do is answer their telephones, Brian Metherell, vice president and general manager of Toshiba America Information Systems, telecommunication systems division, said in prepared remarks. VIPedge empowers users to communicate more effectively, be more cost effective, and have greater access to their customers, partners and each other.
