Despite brisk sales of mobile devices like the BlackBerry and iPhone, software to protect devices are not gaining traction. Security on mobile devices is seen as an extra feature, security execs claim. More than 150,000 developers have already signed on to build their Web apps on Google App Engine, the same infrastructure that powers Google's own apps. The App Engine, made publicly available last week, will make those Web apps scalable like never before. Ray Ozzie, Microsoft's chief software architect, said his company’s recent attempt to strike a deal with Yahoo is an "accelerator" of its online strategy, but not the entire vision. A New York court ruled against Dell last week, saying the computer maker engaged in fraud, false advertising, deceptive business and abusive debt collection practices. The U.S. filed a complaint last week with the World Trade Organization to force the E.U. to stop taxing certain electronic products. Presented by Ashley Daley.
