VMware (www.vmware.com) has added many improvements to the latest upgrade of Workstation—chief among them is better operating system support. Current VMware Workstation users should upgrade to take advantage of new features, and professionals looking into virtual machines should consider this application. VMware Workstation 4.0 is priced at $299 when purchased from the companys Web site. A boxed version with documentation is available for an additional $30, but most corporate users can get by using the downloaded version.
