Although “Vista Embedded” is still but a twinkle in Microsofts eye, the company has begun licensing the operating system for embedded uses, and BIOS vendor General Software has released a BIOS targeting appliance-like Vista applications.
At ESC the week of April 2, “Quickboot for Windows Vista” was shown booting up Vista in just 24 seconds, according to General Software.
At the ESC (Embedded Systems Conference) in San Jose, Calif., also this week, General Software demonstrated what it claims to be one of the worlds fastest boot times for Windows Vista.
