New products aimed at boosting multiplexers.

Keeping DSL flowing With the expected ratification of the G.shdsl standard by the International Telecommunications Union comes a tide of new bridges and routers designed to improve the speed, reach and performance of DSL access multiplexers.

High-performance wares Celsian Technologies Inc., of Tustin, Calif., a digital subscriber line customer premises equipment maker, next month will release its new G series of high-performance G.shdsl bridges and routers.

New links Celsians G.shdsl symmetric routers provide connections from standard-based SHDSL single-pair high-bit-rate networks to private networks or the Internet. The new products are slated to ship in mid-February.

Diversified portfolio Meanwhile, Nortel Networks Corp., of Brampton, Ontario, is enhancing its DSLAM portfolio by incorporating support for the G.shdsl standard into its Universal Edge IMAS and also introducing a DS1 interface that allows service providers to increase flexibility and lower entry-level investment.
