An eWEEK Labs analyst gets technically faced by his father when a discussion about the MiFi mobile hot spot comes up. After some quick thinking (and research), the MiFi as wireless connectivity option gets a big, fat 'no.'
The MiFi 2200 “mobile hot spot” from Verizon provides mobile broadband in the back end and Wi-Fi out the front, giving as many as five users/devices access to the Internet from anywhere. The MiFi behaves like any other Wi-Fi mobile hot spot, although performance may be slower than what you've become accustomed to.
