Corvil's appliance taps into network data and automatically discovers, decodes and reconstructs all details of application and business data flows.IT performance monitoring and data analytics provider Corvil and machine-data analyzer Splunk are combining their talents to create a new-gen big data analytics option for enterprises. The two companies on June 4 launched the Corvil Add-on for Splunk that streams network data analytics to Splunk Enterprise. The Corvil Add-on for Splunk allows customers to route network data analytics into Splunk, making it available for real-time analysis and data mining over longer timescales. Corvil makes an appliance that passively taps into network data and automatically discovers, decodes and reconstructs all details of application and business data flows. Its customers, which include a number of financial service enterprises, optimize the operational performance of their business processes and services using the platform that focuses on the demands of high-performance, low-latency and data-intensive IT environments. "Through our expertise gained by servicing the financial markets for more than a decade, we developed Corvil Add-on for Splunk, a best-in-class approach to deriving operational intelligence and insights from network data," Corvil CEO Donal Byrne told eWEEK.
"As we scale, our next priority is to make these insights accessible and adaptable for companies across any industry. As the most popular software platform for real-time operational intelligence, Splunk was a natural alliance."
