NaviSite's Cloud Tech to Help Weigh Abnormal Loads on UK Motorways
Highways England Electronic Service Delivery for Abnormal Loads (ESDAL) will be supported by NaviSite's hybrid cloud service.By Ben Sullivan Europe's NaviSite has been chosen by engineering solutions provider Costain to provide hybrid cloud hosting services for a technology that weighs the loads of vehicles and their abnormal loads in England. Ready to be implemented by Highways England, the Electronic Service Delivery for Abnormal Loads (ESDAL) platform helps alert highways authorities, structure owners and the police of vehicles and their loads that may exceed standard dimensions. ESDAL plots a driver's route when transporting abnormal loads, and lets drivers know who they need to tell about their route. Sean McAvan, managing director of NaviSite, said: "By working together, we were able to develop new business opportunities with Costain and we look forward to working with them to continue delivering new solutions to their customers."
