With 4K Ultra HD and Android TV capabilities, Xiaomi's Mi Box is the latest streaming media player on the U.S. market, giving users access to thousands of movies and shows from popular streaming apps including Netflix, HBO, Showtime and VUDU, as well as games from Google Play. The new Mi Box, which was unveiled Oct. 3 for $69, is available immediately on Mi.com or Walmart.com or at Walmart stores. U.S. consumers also can gain access to live TV channels including ESPN, CNN and Disney without a cable subscription through Sling TV on the device. The Mi Box includes a quad-core processor, 2GB of memory and 8GB of built-in flash storage, as well as storage expansion through a USB connection. The device also includes built-in Google Cast technology that lets users easily share their small screens to cast TV shows, movies, music and games from their mobile device to the big screen with one tap. The Mi Box is aimed at competition from Apple, Lenovo, Roku, Google and Amazon. Peruse this eWEEK slide show for more details about the latest Xiaomi Mi Box streaming video player.
