Typemock Offers Free Alternative to Open-Source Unit-Testing Tools

Typemock, a provider of unit-testing solutions, has announced a free mocking and unit-testing alternative to open-source and other free mocking tools.

The company is offering a "basic" version of its core unit-testing solution free. Typemock Isolator Basic includes many of the most useful unit-testing components available based in its leading enterprise tools at no cost.

Typemock officials said many developers are still looking for the right unit-testing tools at no upfront cost, opting for open-source or other free software. However, most available open-source tools are either outdated, have not been maintained in years, or have a difficult API and high learning curve, the company said. Additionally, no open-source tool runs only affected unit tests and lets developers pinpoint the location of software bugs, and easily see how much of their code is covered.
