Mercator Software Inc. announced today the latest point release of its namesake process integration platform, at the Gartner ROI Symposium/IT eXpo in Orlando, Fla.
Mercator makes business integration software that links applications, databases, mainframes, and data warehouses.
Mercator 6.7 provides a bevy of enhancements and new features to help users with their business-to-business expansion efforts, including improved standards support, new B2B extension options and overall flexibility and performance enhancements, said officials of the Wilton, Conn., company.
The B2B expansion includes implementation support for RosettaNet and EDI (electronic data interchange) over the Internet through the AS2 protocol. The upgraded platform also brings enhanced Java capabilities, with added support for Java Messaging Systems, which facilitates the integration with Java-based directories and enables third-party software to invoke Mercator deployment via JCA (Java 2 Enterprise Edition Connector Architecture).
Newly restructured design tools, templates and command-line utilities expands Mercator 6.7s run-time capabilities and broadens its systems monitoring, control and third-party software interoperability, officials said. With more automated management of business processes, users are able to better manage human steps in business processes and extend management capabilities to facilitate real time responses to changes in business scenarios, they added.
At the same time, the upgraded software provides extended support for mainframe environments and for customers with core SAP AG applications.
Mercator also announced new packaged integration software for the healthcare, manufacturing, retail and distribution and financial services industries this quarter.
The Mercator Healthcare Hub Solution, announced earlier this month, helps increase auto-adjudication rates and improves efficiency for healthcare claims. Mercators Supply Chain Visibility Hub Solution, generally available this month, connects suppliers, customers and internal systems, providing visibility into the state of the supply chain, officials said.
The software also aggregates supply chain data into a common view and provides real-time reports and exception handling.
Mercators GSS for Payments Solution, scheduled for release at the end of the fourth quarter, helps to make payment processing easily definable through a single system that integrates with existing payment systems, whereby payment information can be consolidated.
