Hewlett-Packard Co. on Monday announced two new products and two upgrades in its Internet Usage Manager family. The software, targeted for enterprises and service providers, is designed to provide users with more accurate and up-to-date information on how customers use the services the organization provides.
The new products include HP OpenView IUM Prepaid Data Solution, which enables operators to add prepaid data services to existing post-paid billing systems and infrastructure without disrupting existing business processes or adding costs. A second new product, HP OpenView IUM CDMA Solution, extends IUM to third-generation CDMA mobile data networks and adds audit and revenue assurance features, HP officials said.
The Palo Alto, Calif., company also announced OpenView Internet Usage Manager 4.0. The new version of the software adds support for real-time event handling to support convergent mediation requirements. It also adds an IUM Packet Collector to augment existing layer 4-7 data collection capabilities.
Lastly, HP announced version 2.0 of its OpenView Dynamic Netvalue Analyzer, which adds improved business information access and dissemination and enhanced data modeling capabilities.
All of the new and enhanced products will be available in January, HP officials said. Pricing for IUM starts at $60,000 based on a customers requirements.
The IUM offerings were part of a series of 45 new and upgraded product announcements HP made for its Integrated Service Management (ISM) line of products. In addition to analyzing service usage, the ISM products and services also cover service delivery and provisioning and service assurance.
