Search startup Intellexts Watson 2.0 sidebar tool is now available as a plug-in for Windows Desktop Search.
Intellext says its search tool is different from other tools, such as Googles Sidebar, because Watson automatically searches for and generates information relevant to the current document a user is working on.
As a user adds or modifies text in a document, Watson scans online and desktop sources for content related to that document and presents those results in a sidebar.
Watson works with Microsofts Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer as well as with Mozillas Firefox. Users have the option to customize the sources Watson searches.
Intellext does not follow the advertising-based revenue model of other search vendors; instead, users pay a subscription fee of $10 per month or $100 per year.
