NetReality Inc., a bandwidth management tool provider in Santa Clara, Calif., will soon upgrade its voice module to support SIP. Integrated with NetRealitys WAN products, WanTel Version 2.0 provides quality of service for integrated voice and data traffic. Session Initiation Protocol, which treats voice like other IP applications, provides an open standard for voice and data integration.
WanTel 2.0 allows per-conversation guarantees, meaning that an enterprise with 1,600K bps worth of bandwidth for voice-over-IP applications can ensure 10 concurrent sessions of 16K bps each. It enables network managers to prioritize between voice and data traffic.
WanTel costs between $495 and $3,495. Version 2.0 is due in December.
