Ericsson Inc.s Ericsson Enterprise division has introduced an upgrade to its OneBox unified messaging product suite in the United States.
OneBox 2.0, which the Swedish company announced at the Internet Telephony Expo and Conference Wednesday in San Diego, allows access to electronic messages via a phone, Windows-based PC or Web browser.
The software supports unified fax, voice and e-mail messaging; text-to-speech conversion for remote access to e-mail; remote access to faxes; Voice Intercept Messaging support; Short Message Service support for text message notification; and full e-mail client integration with Microsoft Corp.s Outlook and Lotus Development Corp.s Notes clients.
The OneBox 2.0 product family includes OneBox Voice for corporate voice messaging; OneBox Fax, a fax messaging server; and OneBox and OneBox Enterprise, for unified messaging. OneBox Enterprise comes with all unified messaging functions built in and can handle up to 120 digital ports, while OneBox can be custom configured to provide only the messaging capabilities customers need and supports up to 60 voice ports and up to 48 fax ports, officials said.
The OneBox system can support up to 4,000 unified messaging clients. The entire product family integrates with Ericssons MD110 PBX, non-Ericsson PBXs and multi-PBX telecommunication networks.
OneBox 2.0 is available now in North America.
