Comergent Technologies Inc. is enhancing its demand chain management software with a handful of new and upgraded features that span the order transaction life cycle.
A new C3 Proposals tool in Comergent E-Business System Version 6.4, which will be rolled out this week and available in January, is geared toward the presales stage of an order. It helps sales professionals create electronic proposals with the ability to add price markups and discounts and to incorporate external products from third-party sources. The tool also provides versioning capabilities to help track proposal iterations.
For companies receiving unstructured orders—such as faxes or some other electronic transmissions—a new tool that captures unstructured orders enables users to define reusable templates for how that information is represented as an order in the Comergent system. Future orders in the same format can be processed automatically. At the same time, an attribute-pricing capability enables pricing to change based on specific attributes.
A new Order Process Modeler is geared toward business analysts and provides an interface that makes it easier to define business processes for order states, as well as implement order process changes.
To better maintain relationships with customers and partners, service product enhancements map service options to manufactured products and then plug into workflows to make customers or partners aware that the options exist.
Configuration enhancements include a more controlled user interface framework, better handling of images and expanded search capabilities, said Comergent officials, in Redwood Shores, Calif.
