With demand for its desktop PCs growing, Dell last week unveiled plans to build a third U.S. manufacturing facility, in North Carolina, to open next fall. The plant will build computers for Dells commercial and consumer customers on the East Coast.
Dells other U.S. manufacturing plants are in Lebanon, Tenn., and Austin, Texas.
About 700 new jobs will be created in the first year, and that number will scale to more than 1,500 in five years, Dell officials said.
