IBM will use PeopleSoft Inc.s Enterprise Services Procurement software to help it better manage its supplier relationships, PeopleSoft announced Monday.
The ESP software will be used internally by IBM in an effort to enhance its services procurement technology stack.
The software helps companies manage both resource and deliverable-based services. It provides visibility and centralized control over services expenditures.
Part of PeopleSofts Supplier Relationship Management suite, ESP will provide IBM with multicurrency and multilanguage capabilities, giving the company a single view of its IT and business services spending.
At the same time, IBM intends to utilize the Pleasanton, Calif., companys purchasing and contractor management capabilities to help reduce requisition and on-boarding cycles and to increase service agreement compliance and supplier performance, officials said.
IBM, of Armonk, N.Y., will deploy ESP domestically in 2004.
