New Year, new you. As the year is still young, it's time to dream up an obligatory resolution that you will definitely stick to the whole year, right? Well, it's almost February and as most folks don't tend to keep to their resolutions for very long, we wonder how many of these still hold. Perhaps, it might be time to look at these as Valentines for IT professionals. Despite our propensity to make and not keep New Year's resolutions, that doesn't mean it's any less worthy of an endeavor, especially for IT pros. After all, every year brings new challenges, and setting goals is as important as ever to ensure the year gets off on the right foot. On that note, SolarWinds recently asked its thwack community of more than 125,000 IT professionals to share their top New Year's IT resolutions for 2016. While there are plenty of solid resolutions, such as reducing network bottlenecks, improving database performance and increasing knowledge, some cause us to raise an eyebrow (and have a good laugh). So, take a look at what other IT pros are hoping to accomplish in 2016—even if some might be a long shot—and think about what your goals for the coming year are to help ensure IT (and business) success.
