With Their Jobs Becoming Ever More Complex, IT Pros Deserve Their Day

Sept. 20 is the second annual IT Professionals Day. Observed on the third Tuesday of every September, IT Professionals Day is a day to honor the modern-day IT professional. All you systems administrators, network engineers, database administrators, information security professionals, software developers, IT support technicians or anything in between, this is your day. Business success and performance rest squarely on the shoulders of IT professionals. With this in mind, SolarWinds conducted two surveys that showcase just how far the responsibilities of IT professionals have expanded beyond their traditional borders. Indeed, IT is everywhere. The survey results, which include insight from both IT professionals and end users, emphasize how traditional IT roles and responsibilities have broadened to include not only company-owned technology, but also personal employee devices and cloud applications from third-party vendors. Thus, even if users miss out on thanking their IT pros on IT Professionals Day for the work they do to keep them connected, it's never too late to do so.
