Curl Corp. is broadening its web application development platform by giving enterprise users new capabilities for monitoring and managing business performance metrics.
The Cambridge, Mass., developer this week will announce the availability of Version 3.0 of its core Curl Client/Web Platform, as well as a new dashboard application.
The Curl platform enables users to develop Web applications that integrate data from multiple sources. Key to that is the softwares ability to provide small applets that can deliver large amounts of information, allowing for client/server functionality over the Web, officials said.
Curl Client/Web Platform 3.0 gives developers the ability to combine raw data from multiple sources—databases and legacy systems, for example—and turn that into a dashboard application that can present sales, production and other business data to executives and managers.
Version 3.0 includes enhancements to the platforms occasionally connected function that lets users access applications without being connected directly to a server. The upgrade features faster loading and access to key performance indicators as well as an enhanced GUI tool kit for more intuitive application design, Curl officials said.
In addition to the platform, Curl is making available a dashboard application, CPM (Curl for Performance Management). CPM enables users to access performance-related data and presents it in a dashboard format for analysis.
CPM joins a previously available dashboard, CCD (Curl for Corporate Directors), that is designed for use by a companys board members and executives as they work to comply with government regulations. The dashboard presents internal and external data and provides a means for communication among corporate directors.
Both CPM and CCD are built on the Curl Application Framework, which is a tool kit for developing custom dashboards.
