BEA Systems Inc. and Mercator Software Inc. Tuesday announced a partnership to jointly sell their software into several vertical markets.
San Jose, Calif.-based BEA and Wilton, Conn.-based Mercator said the companies will jointly sell Mercator solutions and the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform to customers in the financial services, health care, insurance, manufacturing, retail and distribution industries.
The companies said they are partnering to address the market need for application infrastructure and integration technologies by providing business process management, enterprise application integration, B2B integration, Web services, data transformation and connectivity functionality their customers require.
“By joining object integration with a strong application server platform, the hybrid can provide more benefits for enterprise customers – particularly for companies that need to create and deploy reusable business process objects and composite Web services at lower cost, with less risk and higher return,” says a statement from Joanne Friedman, vice president of electronic business strategies at Meta Group Inc., a Stamford, Conn.-based market research firm.
Under the terms of the agreement, BEA and Mercator will jointly market several Mercator solutions and integrate these solutions, including EDI and XML technology, with BEA WebLogic Integration to enable out-of-the-box connectivity, the companies said.
Mercator markets business integration solutions to help customers unify operations and connect with their customers and partners.
