The latest XM70 handheld computer features a 3.5-inch TFT QVGA (240-by-320) color touch-screen display, a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor, 1GB of DDR SDRAM and 4GB of NAND internal storage.

All-Day Comfort for Users

The XM70, the latest model in the company's XM device lineup, is built to fit comfortably in a user's hand for a full work shift in challenging environments. The device is 5.75 inches long, 3.11 inches wide and 1.2 inches thick, and weighs about 9.85 ounces, including its battery.

User Configuration Options

The XM70 comes with a choice of a backlit numeric keypad (pictured) or a backlit PDA keypad, depending on the needs of enterprise users. Both models are built to scan barcodes for users in a wide range of businesses, including retail, hospitality, health care, transportation, logistics and ticketing. Buyers also have a choice of removable 2,400mAh or 4,000mAh rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Pricing for the device starts at $1,595.

PDA Keyboard Controls Also Available

The XM70's optional PDA keyboard controls offer users who love four-way navigation keys just what they are looking for in a portable enterprise handheld. The ruggedized device is also built to survive multiple 4-foot drops onto concrete in a wide range of temperatures, and it is designed to meet IP54 water- and dust-resistance standards.

Android or Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 Preloaded

The XM70 can be purchased with either Android or Microsoft Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating systems and then migrated to the other as needed by business and government users. Also included is a user-accessible microSD card slot to expand internal storage, as well as 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Barcode Scanning for a Range of Businesses

The XM70 offers advanced 1D and 2D barcode scanning using Zebra Technologies' SE4500 scanning engine, allowing fast scanning speeds and deep accuracy as it scans pallets, boxes and more in a wide range of businesses.

Backward Compatibility With Earlier Accessories

The XM70 also features backward compatibility to enable it to use accessories that are already available for the company's previous XM66 handheld. This allows users to reuse existing peripherals and batteries they already own, such as this charging cradle.
