AT&T customers can now preorder the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Tab S 8.4 tablets for delivery starting Sept. 23, as well as save 50 percent on the purchase of a Tab S keyboard.

Samsung's latest Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablets are now being offered for preorder by AT&T, with shipments to customers beginning on Sept. 23.

As part of the Galaxy Tab S promotion, customers can also purchase a Samsung Tab S keyboard for 50 percent off to use with their new tablet if they activate a new line of service and purchase the keyboard at the same time as they order their new devices, according to AT&T. The keyboard normally retails for $129.99. The 50 percent off discount for the keyboard is only available until supplies are exhausted.

The preorder offer was announced by AT&T on Sept. 17 for the tablets. Normal retail sales of the devices will begin Sept. 26 online and in AT&T stores, according to the company.

The 10.5-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 will sell for $529 with a two-year agreement or $629 without a contract. Customers will also be able to use a payment plan for the devices at $31.50 per month with a two-year contract.

The 8.4-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 will sell for $429 with a two-year agreement or $529 without a contract. Contract customers can also choose to pay the device off through payments of $26.50 per month for 20 months, according to AT&T.

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4 feature Super AMOLED HD screens with 4 million pixels, a slim 0.26-inch-thick profile, fingerprint security capabilities to unlock the devices, an Exynos Octa Core processor, 3GB of RAM and multiple log-in capabilities so the devices can be shared with others. Both devices are only available in a Charcoal Gray color.

AT&T also offers other Samsung tablets to consumers, including the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Note Pro 12.2.

Earlier this week, AT&T announced that it is also now taking preorders for Motorola's new second-generation Moto X smartphones, according to an earlier eWEEK report. The Moto X phones will start shipping to customers starting on Sept. 23 and will be available in AT&T stores beginning Sept. 26.

The new Moto X models come a little more than a year after the August 2013 arrival of the first Moto X devices, which run on Android and are highly customizable by users.

AT&T announced the Moto X preorder program in a statement on Sept. 16. The devices, which will be available in Resin Black, Bamboo and Black Leather colors, can be preordered starting at $99.99 under a two-year contract or starting at $526.99 without a contract, according to AT&T.

The smartphones also can be purchased using a monthly payment plan. A Resin Black Moto X can be purchased for $526.99 without a contract, for $21.96 per month under an AT&T Next 18 Plan or for $26.35 per month under an AT&T Next 12 Plan. A Bamboo or Black Leather Moto X will sell for $546.99 without a contract, $119.99 under a two-year agreement, $22.80 per month under the AT&T Next 18 Plan or $27.35 per month under the AT&T Next 12 Plan. New and existing AT&T customers who activate a new line of service before Sept. 30 with a smartphone on the AT&T Next program can get a $100 credit on their bill, according to AT&T.

The new Moto X includes a 5.2-inch, 1080p HD display, which is an upgrade from the 4.7-inch, 720p display of the first-generation devices. The metal-framed phone also includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor and runs Android, along with voice-activated capabilities for a wide range of no-touch commands and functions. The phones include 2GB of RAM, Gorilla Glass 3 displays, a 13-megapixel main camera and a dual LED ring flash.
